Renee Karunungan

I’m a Doctoral Researcher at Loughborough University’s Centre for Research in Communication and Culture researching the role of Facebook Influencers in shaping the narrative of the Duterte era. I’m also a science communicator at the Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research.

I work as a communications and research consultant for different organisations. I use participatory approaches in my work and believe in the power of community building. I have worked with Climate Tracker, Climate Action Network, Heinrich Boll Foundation, and the Norwegian Students’ and Academics’ Assistance Fund, to name a few.

I’m an activist who fights for human rights and climate justice.
