Carbon emissions to hit record high in 2019, even with coal decline

Emissions from burning fossil fuels are projected to grow by 0.6 per cent this year to reach almost 37 billion tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2). This is down from 1.5 per cent in 2017 and 2.1 per cent in 2018.
